If you have a small business and want to insure your van, you will need to look harder to find insurance. If you want to insure a scout hut against theft or a lock-up garage against fire, you will need to look longer and harder than other people to find the cover you want.

But don’t despair. For every obscure set of circumstances there are usually another million people out there trying to find the same cover. And that means there are at least 20 insurance companies chasing your business.

So the wise thing may be to keep looking. We know. It’s tempting when you’ve been trying all day to find someone who will cover your set of circumstances to cave in to the first quote. But you never know. When you’ve found one quote you might be on a roll… so that may not be the perfect time to give up the chase.
